Paola Margu is a freelance journalist and photographer based in Mexico. Her reporting focuses on human rights, ocean conservation, and gender equity. In 2023, she co-directed an investigation and documentary on illegal octopus fishing in Mexico, supported by the Pulitzer Center and published in El País, which screened at festivals in Washington, D.C. and Toronto. She is a member of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network. Paola currently co-leads Mujeres en Movimiento, a multidisciplinary project in the Yucatán Peninsula that blends journalism, science, and art to highlight the role of women in fisheries.
