Two days after the release of a €1.72bn tranche to Greece, the International Monetary Fund has warned that it will not be able to honour its commitment to provide further funding for the aid programme in November-December of this year, reports Kathimerini.

The IMF also sent a stern message to Athens, demanding an acceleration in the implementation of the programme, points out the daily, which nonetheless notes that the authors of the report welcomed the “remarkable progress” that has been made in the area of public finance, while highlighting weaknesses in the fields of fiscal and administrative reform and the country’s privatisation programme.
