Three pupils at a Jewish school in Toulouse, aged 4, 5 and 7 along with a teacher, who was father of two of the children, were shot dead by a man who is probably also the murderer of 3 soldiers of North African descent a few days earlier. Given the emotions aroused by this unprecedented event, the presidential election campaign has been temporarily suspended.
