On the drone: Have a good flight De Maizière
According to weekly Der Spiegel, German Defence Minister Thomas De Maizière is well placed to become the next Secretary General of NATO in 2014.
With other names being cited, like Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Radek Sikorski and former European commissioner Franco Frattini, De Maizière's chances may be undermined by a scandal surrounding the costly development of the Euro Hawk surveillance drone.
