Born in South Africa in 1965, Jan Cienski is the Warsaw bureau chief of theFinancial Times. He has been in Warsaw since 2003, where he has covered Poland’s entry into the European Union. He has previously worked in Uzbekistan, Moscow and Washington.
Thomas Escritt has been the Bucharest correspondent for the Financial Times since 2007. He entered journalism from the finance sector. He was educated at Cambridge University.
