Finnish journalist Jarmo Virmavirta (b. 1940) is a former director of the dailies Turun Sanomat(from 1983 to 1990), Uusi Suomi (1990-91), Länsi-Suomi (1994-1996) and the weekly Nykypäivä (1996-2001). He has lived in Tallinn since 2001, where he publishes a column in the Estonian daily Postimees. His opinion pieces are also regularly featured on the Finnish public radio station YLE.
