As testing spreads and Covid-19 cases multiply in several parts of Europe, an increasing number of countries are adopting new restrictive measures – curfews, bar closures, localised confinement. The aim is to contain the pandemic, and to avoid a further general lockdown, which would have catastrophic consequences for the economy and employment.
