On 20 January, Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States. Following an inauguration speech that mentioned neither Europe nor its allies, the tycoon signed a series of “executive orders” to mark his second term with a sovereignist or even reactionary stamp, and signal a break with the Democratic administration of his predecessor Joe Biden.

Notably, Trump signed the US withdrawal from both the Paris Climate Agreement and the World Health Organization.
