At a meeting of EU foreign ministers on June 25, “all of the member states agreed to open accession negotiations with Serbia”, reports Politika.
Talks are to begin between now and 2014, says the daily. The exact date is to be set by the European Council on June 28. Uncertainty about the schedule has been prompted by Germany, which wishes to postpone negotiations until Serbia offers guarantees on the normalisation of its relations with Kosovo.
At the same time, ministers gave their blessing to the opening of talks on a stabilisation and association agreement with Kosovo.
