Sergio Romano (b. 1928) is an Italian historian and diplomat. In the course of his career, he has been Italy’s ambassador to the USSR, France and NATO. He has also taught at Harvard and the University of California. In the press, he has collaborated with La Stampa, [Il Mulino](http://www.mulino.it/) and Limes, and he currently writes a column for Corriere della Sera.
