Al Hayat ("Life") is the newspaper of the Arab diaspora and the preferred forum for leftist intellectuals and Arab liberals who want to reach to a wide audience. Lebanese in origin, it was acquired by the Saudi Prince and Marshal Khaled ibn Sultan in 1990. Rather pro-Western and pro-Saudi, it is nonetheless quite open to differing opinions regarding other regional issues. The newspaper's website provides the contents of the paper version and links to the weekly Al-Wasat, another publication of the group. The English-language edition of the site offers a selection of articles from the Arabic version in extract form.
