Founded in 1988, Atgimimas ("Renaissance") was the first magazine to emerge following Lithuania’s proclamation of independence in 1991. In its bid to be the weekly of reference for an upper-middle class readership, Atgimimas maintains a strong focus on politics and social issues. As a matter of principle, it has a specific policy of refusing to publish advertorials.
