Founded in 1990, Le Journal du jeudi is one of the best satirical papers in French-speaking Africa. The scathing humour of its lampoons and cartoons spares no-one and nothing. Directed by cartoonist Damien Glez, “the Thursday paper” chiefly covers current events in Burkina Faso, though not without forays into the international arena. Most of the articles in the weekly are posted on its website, along with links to other African and international media and press cartoon sites.
