Born in 1933, Sefano Rodotà is an Italian jurist. A left-wing member of the Italian and European parliaments, he has taught in several universities and was formerly chief of the Italian Authority for the Protection of Personal Data. A columnist at La Repubblica, he is the author of several works on public freedom and new technologies.
