In the course of its most recent visit to Bucharest on November 5, the delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) demanded that the Romanian government implement a further austerity package to facilitate the reimbursement a €13bn loan contracted in 2009.
Measures in the package include an increase in the price of fuel and higher property taxes.
