“There could be thousands people in Poland who have been sexually abused by paedophile priests,” writes Ekke Overbeek, a Dutch journalist based in Poland, in his book Lękajcie się (Be afraid).
“Is this a ticking bomb in the Church?” wonders the daily, noting that the author not only describes broken lives of 12 sexually abused people, but also strongly condemns the still influential Polish Church for not acting “effectively enough” to eradicate paedophilia in its ranks.
