While the European Commission seems to accept the idea that deficit reduction will take longer than expected and the European Central Bank has cut its main interest rate in order to foster economic recovery, Europeans' confidence in the EU is at its lowest ebb, as is clearly shown in the latest survey by the Pew Research Center.
