'Worldburger'

The world’s first laboratory-grown beefburger, dubbed the “Frankenburger”, by the Daily Mirror newspaper, was unveiled, cooked and eaten at a press conference in London on August 5.

Co-founder of Google Sergey Brin picked up the €248,000 bill to develop the dish, which was grown from stem cells in a lab in the Netherlands. Scientists believe the technology could be on supermarket shelves within a decade.
