Nicknamed “my right hand” by European Commission President-elect Jean-Claude Juncker, the Commission’s First Vice President Frans Timmermans of the Netherlands closed European parliamentary hearings of commissioners with a rejection of candidate Alenka Bratušek, Ljubljana nominated business leader Violeta Bulc as Slovenia’s representative on the Commission. Juncker was to meet with her on 14 October.
