German main car manufacturers (Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, Daimler, Opel y Porsche) gathered in Berlin on 2 August for the so-called "Diesel Summit", along with representatives of the Federal government and of the Länder (regions). In what looks like the latest episode of the Dieselgate emission cheating scandal, the carmakers agreed to install a new software for reducing emissions on 5.3 million diesel cars in Germany.
