Born in Warsaw in 1937, Janusz “Mayk” Majewski settled in Sweden in 1967, where he began his career as a press cartoonist. Since 1973, he has worked for Sydvenska Dagbladet, which later became Sydsvenskan, and has colloborated with several Swedish as well as international publications like Helsingin Sanomat, The New York Times, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung,RzeczpospolitaandDer Spiegel. In 1981, he won the Knokke-Heist International Cartoon Festival prize.
