Thomas Kielinger (b.1940) is the UK correspondent of Die Welt and author of Elizabeth II: Das Leben der Queen. He joined the newspaper in 1971 as a literary critic before being posted to the US where he was the paper’s chief correspondent in Washington DC. He later became editor in chief of German weekly Rheinischer Merkur before returning to Die Welt in 1998 to take up his current role.
