Days after North American companies Marathon Oil and Talisman Energy stopped shale gas fracking in Poland, news emerges that the country’s chief geologist and deputy environment minister Piotr Woźniak spoke out against US companies investing in shale gas extraction in Poland, claims Rzeczpospolita.
The daily quotes a confidential memo by an employee of an embassy of “one of the interested countries”, which was written after a private meeting held in Warsaw on March 13 with 130 investors, businessmen and diplomats in which the politician is reported to have made the comments.
