A new “supercommando” team of state prosecutors, police and tax investigators will be tasked with a mission “to catch big fish,” writes Pravda.

The operation, which has been launched by Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák, police chief Tibor Gašpar and the new prosecutor general, Jaromír Čižnár, will boost the drive to fight economic crime — a priority for the prosecutor, who was appointed in June to the post, which had been vacant for two years.

The daily points out that with economic crime on the increase, the state is losing €1.2bn per year to fraud and tax evasion.
