‘Cameron relents to give MPs vote on Syria’

Prime Minister David Cameron has pledged to offer MPs a vote on whether to arm Syrian rebels, amid growing opposition from backbenchers over UK intervention in the conflict, writes The Independent
More than 80 MPs sent a demand to Cameron expressing their concerns over providing weapons to fighters attempting to overthrow Syrian President Bashar Al Assad.
At least five Cabinet ministers are thought to oppose any move to arm rebels following the lifting of an European Union weapons embargo on Syria last month.
