The horsemeat which wound up in frozen foods in the United Kingdom and France has a tangled history. It seemingly arrived from Romania after being ordered by a Dutch broker who had been sub-contracted by a Cypriot colleague, who was himself under orders from a French butcher, who in turn was hired by a Luxembourg company that was a subsidiary of the French branch of frozen food multinational, Findus.
