"I spent a day with the ethnobotanical poisons" leads Adevărul after investigating the dramatic expansion of the "dream store" or "spice shops” in Romania. On the Romanian market only three years, legal drugs called “ethnobotanicals" sold in the form of plants, incense or chemical fertilisers have made slaves of over half a million Romanians, claims the Bucharest daily. Local authorities in several cities have banned the selling of these products within 1.5 km of public institutions, particularly schools. One of the dealers, however, said that he “makes more money out of this type of business than can be imagined."
