On 21 December a parliamentary committee threw out culture minister Ángeles González-Sinde’s bill, under which websites providing access to copyright-protected content could be closed down. Apart from producers, authors and publishers, the only support for the proposed legislation came from prime minister Zapatero’s socialist group.
