David Rossi, the head of media relations at the Monte dei Paschi di Siena bank, which is currently being investigated over corruption allegations, apparently jumped to his death from the window of his office on March 6.
He was not among those being probed regarding the bank’s irregular operations, but his home had been searched and it is speculated that he feared the consequences of the scandal.
In the meantime, a further €6m has been seized from the bank, and a charge of insider trading has been added to the growing list of allegations facing managers at the firm, Italy’s third-largest bank.
