On October 11, Slovakia's parliament rejected the reinforcement of the European Financial Stability Fund (EFSF), bringing about the collapse of the government led by Iveta Radičová. On October 12, the three coalition parties in power and the opposition Social Democrats agreed to approve in a second vote Slovakian participation in exchange for early elections.
