Angela Merkel is to visit Athens this October 9 for the first time since the crisis began. 7,000 policemen will be mobilized. The Greek government hopes that the German Chancellor will provide clear support for Greece's continued membership of the eurozone, the quick release of the next tranche of €31.5 billion in aid and a two year extension to balance its budget.
