“France is piling pressure on Austria over tax evasion,” reports the Viennese daily.
On April 11, French Budget Minister Bernard Cazeneuve declared that countries that do not accept the convention on the automatic exchange of information that will pave the way for total transparency within the EU “run the risk of finding themselves on the list of uncooperative states and territories.”
In reponse, Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann pointed out that Austria had “not asked for advice.” The newspaper adds that the government in Vienna “has already indicated that it will take part in negotiations.”
