Headlining with "Off-limits to artists," Tageszeitung reports on Germany's highly restrictive visa policy for Turkish citizens, which poses major problems for self-employed artists and intellectuals who are regularly invited to Germany to participate in cultural exchanges. The Berlin daily also reveals the three conditions that the EU wants fulfilled before it waives its visa requirement for Turkish citizens: the introduction of biometric passports, a guarantee that Turkey will take back migrants who illegally enter the EU via its territory, and secure its borders with Iran, Iraq and Georgia.
