The country’s only general-interest weekly. Created in 1916, “Finland’s Illustrated” is well documented and well written, presenting an effective mix of national and international news. It’s a good counterweight to the sole "Suomi"-language national daily, Helsingin Sanomat. Its Web site presents selected excerpts from leading articles in the broadsheet; if of potential interest to foreign readers, the excerpts are translated into English.
