It's a well-documented phenomenon: right-wing populist politicians and aligned media outlets are waging a campaign of disinformation across Europe. The usual themes? Climate change, migration, gender and LGBT+ rights. The result is a distortion of the debate on these hot-button issues.

Such disinformation is damaging to democracy. To fight it, we have joined forces with Italy's Internazionale and Greece's Solomon in the transnational fact-checking initiative RightWatch.

Our aim is to provide reliable, evidence-based information on these issues for citizens, journalists, policy-makers and civil society as a whole in France, Italy and Greece.

Together with Annalisa Camilli from Internazionale and Stavros Malichudis from Solomon, who have both worked on the project, we discussed concrete ways for journalists to counter myths and lies in a Live event. The conversation was moderated by Catherine André and Gian-Paolo Accardo. This event is the fruit of a partnership of the European Media and Information Fund, Internazionale and Solomon
