Several European countries, including Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain and Belgium, have expelled Syria's ambassadors chargé d'affaires in retaliation for the Bashar al-Assad regime's attack on the Syrian town of Hula on the 25 and 26 May. The UN says at least 108 people, including 49 children, died. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, more than 13,000 people have been killed since the uprising began in Syria in February 2011.
