Flooding aggravates crisis

"Floods like those in 2008 happen once every 150 years, and those of 2010 occur once every 200 years," notes the Romanian daily Gândul. This exceptional rising of the waters has already caused at least 25 deaths. While the country is confronted by grave financial difficulties, the cost of damages from these floods could exceed 0.6% of the country's GDP, according to government sources.
