Founded in 1993 by the powerful Burda media group, this modern, conservative, free-market-geared newsmagazine, chock-a-block with brief articles and computer graphics, is out to rival Der Spiegel. Unlike the latter, however, Focus focuses more on facts than analysis, and more on airing the opinions of politicians and public figures than those of its own editors.
The website is heavier on business news and practical services: Stocks and Bonds, Money, Mobiles, Career, Cars etc. Articles from the weekly paper issue are not available on the site.
