The number of Poles living abroad is continuing to rise for the third consecutive year, with a total of 2.13 million outside the country at the end of 2012, writes Rzeczpospolita.
An additional 70,000 left in 2012, compared to the previous year. This brings the total number of people aged 39 or younger who have left to some 1.4 million.
The largest proportion of migrants are people aged 25-35, with a total of 10.6 per cent of Poles in this age range now living abroad.
In 2013, Poland’s population may decrease by a further 40,000, Rzeczpospolita notes, with 183,000 children born in the first half of the year, compared to 202,000 deaths.
