Loretta Napoleoni (1955) is a London-based Italian economist. She studied at Johns Hopkins University in Washington D.C. and at the London School of Economics. An expert in international money laundering and terrorist funding, she has advised various governments and the UN on the matter. A contributor for CNN, the BBC, The Guardian, Le Monde, El País and Internazionale, she is the author of Modern Jihad: Tracing the Dollars Behind the Terror Networks (Pluto Press 2003), Terror Inc. (Penguin 2004), Rogue Economics (New York 2008) and Terror and the Economy (New York 2010).
