Die Presse reportsthat the Austrian government is set to “outlaw anonymous donations to political parties” after revelations that Jörg Haider, the deceased leader of the extreme-right FPÖ party, hid a fortune estimated at 45 million euros in Lichtenstein. From 2011, all donations of more than 7,000 euros will be made public on the websites of the Austrian parliament and the national Court of Auditors. The daily reminds its readers that Austrian political parties will benefit from 171.2 million euros of public funding in 2010.
