Dieter Hanitzsch is a German cartoonist, journalist and author born in 1933 in what is now the Czech Republic. He trained as a brewer then in advertising, before woring as a financial journalist (1964-85). He then embarked on a career as a cartoonist with the magazine Quick before joining Süddeutsche Zeitung, the Berliner Morgenpost and then Focus.
