The Belgian government has placed Brussels on a level four security status, the highest possible, for four days. This measure, almost unheard of in Europe, has been adopted because of a "serious and imminent danger of attack", while security forces extend their searches and arrests in areas occupied by radical islamists deadly shootings of 13 November in Paris.
