"Rubygate", the trial of Silvio Berlusconi on charges of prostitution of a minor, opened April 6 in Milan and was immediately postponed to May 31. The head of Italy’s government challenged the competence of the court of Milan, and Parliament has passed a motion to ask the Constitutional Court to decide whether Berlusconi should be tried instead by the Tribunal of Ministers. These would take up the case only after a favourable opinion (very unlikely) by the deputies.
