Yesterday workers clashed with security forces in Barajas airport in Madrid as they began a series of three five-day strikes to protest against plans to restructure the Spanish airline.
The restructuring programme is expected to cut 3,800 jobs (19 per cent of the overall workforce), reduce wages, and axe services to a number of destinations.
Iberia has belonged to the holding company IAG since its merger with British Airways in 2011.
