
The 28 NATO members have no idea on how much they pay to the military organisation or how this money is spent, reports De Volkskrant. According to an investigation of the Netherlands Court of Audit, published in English on its website, this is caused by “messy books” and a “top secret” designation of on almost all of the organisation's expenses.
“Maybe NATO is wasting a lot of money or maybe it has a deficiency, we have no idea”, says Court of Audit President Saskia Stuiveling.
