In response to the police crackdown on protests in Istanbul against the Islamic-conservative government of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Syrian Information Minister announced that "the Turkish people’s demands do not deserve all this violence" and urged the Prime Turkish Minister to "resign if he is unable to use non-violent means."
