“Russian truth about Smoleńsk air crash: Poles to blame,” headlinesRzeczpospolita, disappointed by the final report of the Moscow-led investigation into the air crash which killed the Polish presidential couple along with 94 top officials on 13 April 2010. Presented at a press conference on Wednesday, the report put the blame on the Polish side: pilot error, pressure on the crew, and poor flight organisation. The newspaper points out that Moscow has disclaimed any responsibility of Russian flight control for the accident. For Rzeczpospolita, this marks the failure of PM Donald Tusk’s strategy, which saw the Polish government leave the investigation in Russian hands.
