A total of 115 cardinals from all over the world have gathered for the conclave to elect a new pope to succeed Benedict XVI.
The conclave begins today in the Sistine Chapel and, “according to rumours in Rome, forward-looking cardinals want the future pope to reform everything at once," reports the daily.
"He should tackle the question of the government of the church, the problem of a lack of transparency in the Vatican’s finances, and issue an unambiguous condemnation of pedophile priests and those who protected them,” it continues.
