‘Shell opens hunting season on Belgian shale gas’

"Oil firms such as Shell are targeting Europe," says the daily newspaper. After foraging last year in Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, the Anglo-Dutch company is now interested in Belgium.
Shell plans to invest €100,000 to prospect for shale gas in the eastern Liège region and in the north-eastern Campine area. Other oil firms are also showing an interest, among them British firm Cuadrilla and Germany's Wintershall.
